Help Us Raise the Money Needed to Build Benson’s Baseball and Softball Fields
If every Benson alum and friend donates the price of a cup of coffee: $5 – or several cups – that will help give our Benson bunnies a home field.
Your support can bring baseball and softball opportunities to underserved youth, provide much-needed fields for adult leagues east of 72nd Street, and help complete the transformation of Gallagher Park.
Revitalizing Baseball and Softball at Gallagher Park
In 2024-25, Gallagher Park underwent significant renovations, thanks to the largest gift ever made to the Omaha Parks Foundation—$1.35 million. These improvements included a restored fountain, pool upgrades, new walkways, a fountain plaza, and a refurbished basketball area. The redesign also created space for relocating the existing softball field to the northeast corner of the park, making way for a brand-new baseball field on the current softball field site.

The Future of Benson Baseball
Benson High School’s baseball program is thriving, and its future is brighter than ever. Coach Carl Bray and his dedicated coaching staff are committed to developing student-athletes, many of whom have never played baseball before joining the team.
The demand for baseball fields in the community is immense. Park directors report overwhelming requests for field rentals and are confident that the new fields will stay busy when not in use by Benson’s teams.
