Dear Benson Alum,

For more than a century, Benson High School has been a beacon of pride, resilience and community.  Today we are asking you—our valued alums— for your help in building the next chapter of Benson’s legacy.  Thanks to the generosity of alumni and partners across Omaha, we have raised over $5 million toward the $6.5 million ballfields complex to be built just across the street at Gallagher Park.  To make this dream a reality for our ball players we must raise the final $1.5 million. Every gift, large or small, brings us closer to the day when the Benson baseball team will play on its own field, wearing green and white with pride. But your support does more than build fields, it builds futures.  Our student body is one of the most economically challenged in Omaha.  Most students cannot afford athletic shoes, equipment or transportation to practice.  Yet through sports, our students—including refugees and newcomers—find teammates, mentors and a sense of belonging in their community.

The foundation also has many funds to support the school:

*Athletic Enhancement Fund-shoes, uniforms and camps for our teams

*Teacher Scholarship Fund—helping future educators like Jayden Swensen earn degrees and     return to Benson to teach.

*Principal’s Fund—responding to urgent student and classroom needs.

*Motivational Speaker Fund—bringing inspiring voices to our students.

*Arts Fund—nurturing creativity  and expression through music, drama and art

*Grounds Upkeep Fund—keeping the gardens and new park green and welcoming

*Memorial Fund—honoring the lives of alumni, teachers and friends

*General Fund—sustaining the Foundation’s mission to serve Benson students and the staff.

Every contribution whether $25 or $50, $100 or $1,000 directly helps Benson students today and secures our legacy for generations to come. 

A huge thank you to all of you who have supported the Foundation in the past.
